Boston

As most of you probably know already, Jon and I went to Boston for a few days. Jon has a couple of friends there, and I was pretty excited because I got to visit my aunt and uncle. We split our time between Boston, Cambridge and Andover. We did the Freedom Trail thing, and everything reminded me of Mr. Rutschman and AP US History.

Jon and I at the Boston Public Garden.

The Old State House (the back view of it).

The Old North Church ("One if by land, two if by sea...").

The view from Bunker Hill. That pointy triangle in the background is the new bridge (looks very cool at night). You can spot my aunt and uncle towards the front end of that ice cream truck.

Myself, my Aunt Lynda, and Jon in front of my Aunt's house.

One of the first things you notice in Cambridge is the brick. There's brick everywhere. Even the sidewalks are paved in brick. Not very fun to walk on. It definitely gives the whole place a feeling of being very old (makes sense, since everything there is really old). The uniformity of all the buildings is so different from the Cal campus, where almost no 2 buildings are the same.

Memorial Hall at Harvard. It looks like a gigantic church, complete with stained glass windows. Don't be fooled--it's the freshman dining hall.

The day that we went to visit MIT turned out to be really warm. While we were walking around the campus, we spotted this guy. He was just reading, chillin' in a hammock that he hung up in a tree. I was actually amazed by the diversity of the kids there. I saw way more girls than I thought I would, and not as many stereotypical nerd-types.
