media assemblage: acrylics, plywood & masonite
was transfixed by roadside signage as a boy, especially those that employed
three dimensional figures. One of my favorites was for a local pest
exterminator that showed a silly looking man in a top hat hiding a giant
mallet behind his back as he approached a curious mouse. The influence
such artifacts had on me is evident in this piece. To my eye it would
look right at home revolving atop a pole next to a busy freeway
with wide eyed children peering at it from the passing cars.
